Imagine not having to worry about bills, drama, racism, sexism, or any of life’s negatives.

Wouldn’t that be a great day?

Unfortunately that isn’t the world we live in.

The reality is there is everything to lose when it comes to stress, anxiety, and feeling not enough.

In short, the way to that is through forgiveness.

Forgiveness of self, the past, others, and even those who spread negativity.

It won’t be easy either but think about this, does all of that really lend itself to getting you to your goals?

We spend so much time focused on the past, what could have been, and even what should be without realizing that it’s draining our energy and lowering our effectiveness to create good.

In the process we lose our humanity chasing false hopes that we’ll gain some sort of status or wealth that’ll solve all of our problems.

Only to hit the wall of disappointment and despair each time life knocks us off our “game”, without realizing that what truly matters is who we consistently are.

That’s where forgiveness comes in.

When we’re able to let go of everything that isn’t going to uplift, inspire, and help us grow, we gain the necessary clarity and momentum to move forward and upward.

Like most things, it’s a choice to either carry unnecessary burdens or lose them all and immerse yourself in your creative awesome.

Even though we really aren’t supposed to, you and I make a lot of assumptions.

We assume people or things are certain way, only to find out it’s the complete opposite case.

When it comes to assumptions, there are a few ways in which it can become useful.

The one we’re going to focus on is when others underestimate you.

Reflect with me for a second. How does it make you feel when you find out that others underestimate what you’re capable of?

At first, not that great if you’re like me.

Especially after you’ve been putting in the work and paying the necessary dues.

But if you’re a true fighter, you know that if you put in the work and ignore the noise, your time WILL come.

It then becomes more a matter of when versus if.

That’s the power of being underestimated.

It’s the power of knowing that regardless of what others may assume, at the end of the day it’s just noise.

Instead of leaning into the natural inclination of seeking external validation, dig in and allow the clarity to build around your why.

You’re far more capable than you may ever realize.

So what if you aren’t currently picked for the roster.

Take the time to build your own instead.

Besides you probably don’t want the attention or friendship of people who fail to be of support in your journey to being the best version of you.

Growth will make you realize the importance and clarity that having a small circle brings.

Aka not everyone you meet has to be someone you eat with.

So take the time to choose your circle wisely. It’ll save you time later.

Valuing yourself based on the opinions of others is the fastest way to burning yourself out and wasting your potential.

Let them underestimate you while you stay focused on your own lane.

Never let someone get under your skin with their malarkey.

Your goals deserve better. YOU deserve better.

If you aren’t grateful for the process, you’ll never be satisfied with achieving the goal.

At the end of it all things comes down to this question.

See, those rules are always changing and evolving based on that person’s needs, wants, and desires.

Not yours.

Your goals are simply getting lost in the mix.

Unless you choose to be a bit more intentional about your life.

Helping others is great and actually quite noble.

But you have to learn how to help yourself first.

How to forgive yourself first.

Then and only then can you move to forgive and help others.

Sometimes you have to take a moment and ask yourself the tough questions.

And equally deal with the tough answers.

Otherwise you’re risking a life of complacency that eventually leads to regret.

Don’t believe me? Ask any elderly person what they regret and chances are you’ll leave with quite the list.

So what exactly are you waiting for?

If it’s the right time, then you’ll be waiting forever.

If it’s people to believe in you, the result will still be the same.

It’s time for you to believe in you.

It’s time to forgive yourself for whatever thing you keep holding on to from the past.

You’re not going in that direction, so why keep trying to live there?

Own your experiences and leverage them into intentional steps that make each and every aspiration a living reality.

You and I only get one shot at this thing called life.

We love the feeling of seeing the come up.

The fight from the back all the way to the finish.

Yet when it comes to ourselves, we have a mountain of excuses why we can’t.

In our reality, the underdog is only a fantasy.

It’s funny how the momentum changes when we put the spotlight on your own goals.

Imagine if we took even a small portion of the excitement we give to the underdogs we watch and applied it to ourselves.

If we spent as much time following the stats of each player and instead focused it into doing just one thing.

It’s these moments in time when we choose to push outside of what feels comfortable that yield the best results.

The underdog doesn’t win because they practiced more, they win because they’re hungry for the win.

The reigning champion no matter how good often reaches a point where they feel success is an entitlement.

The hunger isn’t as intense.

For the underdog, the hunger couldn’t be any louder when it rumbles.

Giving them the necessary focus, determination, and intensity needed to win.

The underdog also comes prepared.

They know the importance of not only having knowledge but applying it.

The underdog thinks like a rookie but executes like a pro.

The underdog isn’t willing to fail because they’re already at the point of having nothing else left to lose.

Except their dignity and the promises they’ve made to those around them that they wouldn’t give up.

The underdog carries the weight of hope from the community.

Thus giving them the fuel they need to make things happen.

They don’t discount their past, instead they own it.

Each scar a reminder not of the pain but of the refinement that brought them to where they are now.

Be the underdog of your own game.

Bet on yourself for a change.

Own your experiences and share your story.

Be about that value life.

Show up and help out.

When things get rough, tie a rope and hold on.

Whatever you do, don’t give up.

For the world is waiting on the good you have to share.

It’s waiting for the positive impact your story could have on someones life.

It’s also deceptive to think that time will wait on you to find the right amount of inspiration.

Sure, some days are way more difficult than others.

You may not have all the energy needed to fight the depression, the hurt, or the pain.

But you do it anyway.

Somewhere in the mix of it all you realize that the objective isn’t for things to get easier.

It’s for you to get stronger, wiser, and more agile.

It’s about building up the necessary momentum needed in order to reach the tipping point.

The one that’ll take you where you need to truly be.

It’s also about not giving up.

Why?

Because you have so much good to give in this world.

It would be a shame to make that all go to waste.

To live in regret and ask constantly, “What If..?”, is to put oneself through personal hell.

Your personal brand is YOU.

You aren’t a product.

You are a person.

One with goals and dreams.

A person that has so much good to give this world.

So the sooner you realize that there is no such thing as THE perfect moment.

The sooner you’ll be on your way to achieving the greatness you asked for.

It’s easy to play the victim.

But how often do your choices lead to your own demise?

We all have obstacles, disadvantages, and disappointments that happen in our lives.

It’s what we choose to do during and after that defines you and I.

Greatness can’t be achieved through shortcuts or name dropping.

It can only be achieved by consistently showing up and applying yourself.

Goals are just dreams in action.

That is if you’re intentionally taking the steps forward to meet them.

Otherwise you’ll just be wasting your time.

Hoping that someone will come along and give you the hookup.

It doesn’t make any sense claiming that you’re passion about something.

Then show up only when you feel like it.

That’s not how passion works.

Furthermore, that’s not how progress works either.

It’s on you to put in the work.

It’s on you to show up.

Even on the days you don’t feel like it.

Unlike the many resources and things you can get back, once time is gone, it’s gone.

No do overs.

This is why it’s key to keep doing you.

To keep focusing on being better.

To not allow yourself to get complacent.

That’s all on you.

The sooner you stop blaming others, the sooner you’ll find the clarity needed to move forward.

People suck sometimes.

Yet that doesn’t mean you should stop creating more good.

If anything, that simply means you should push yourself to create even more.

So take your eyes off someone else’s prize.

Look at your time and optimize.

Put in the work consistently and you too will rise.

Next time you start to romanticize the current chapter of someone else’s life, is the moment you’ve lessened the impact of good you can create.

Chances are there is someone somewhere that thinks you are an influencer in what you do.

And in that moment, you’ll realize that influencers are simply people too.

I can’t believe that it’s already the end of another week.

I guess that’s what happens when you’re minding your own business.

To say this week has been boring, would be a true disservice to life.

Beneath all the cool experiences, there has been something smacking away in the back of my mind.

Everyone is suddenly an expert these days.

It’s a weird world we live in.

Everyone is selling something.

Many try to sell glitter poised as gold.

They whisper about having the shortcut you need.

Babbling on and on with cheap tricks to get you sipping on the cult-aid.

You deserve better.

Anything that is worthwhile won’t come easy.

The snake oil seller knows this fact.

They also know that it’s within human nature to seek out anything that looks like a shortcut.

So they prey on your passion, your energy, and your possibility.

Weaving you in and out of funnel after funnel, promising you the key to all your dreams.

Extending the promise runway just a little more each and every time.

Until, you have nothing left to give their ever growing coffers.

Time is too valuable to keep giving it all away.

It’s too valuable to keep showing up for people who aren’t showing up for you.

Certainly there is nothing wrong with asking for help.

In fact, don’t try to do things all on your own.

Av0id the bubblegum advice.

It’s easier to stop chewing now than to keep chewing and end up hungry for true substance later.

There’s more value in gaining the experience than seeking the shortcut.

You’ll realize that when you pursue substance, there’s very little room for snacks.

Even less room to get caught up in the oily, slimy mess of the snake oil seller.

You have to be present and speak up.

Otherwise, you can’t get mad if no one hears your voice.

Simplicity is a form of elegance.

The more you clutter remove, the more blessings you’ll end up receiving in the end.

Keep it simple.

Focus on what’s important.

Put in the work while they doubt you.
