Drop the expectation of what the world thinks you should be and embrace the creative good inside.

You do deserve to be happy, just be careful that it isn’t at the expense of your ability to create more good.

Growing up I would always hear that the truth has three sides, your side, the other person’s side, and then the truth. Or something close.

If we neglect the perspectives and experience that a diverse group of people bring to the table, we’ll ultimately end up holding ourselves back from some of the greatest achievements.

But given that we don’t yet exist in such a timeline, it’s better that we settle for the next best thing.

There’s power to collaborating with others.

New insights can be gained.

New relationships can be forged.

And new possibilities will emerge.

Given that we have a limited time on this Earth, why waste it trying to do everything on your own?

Your weaknesses aren’t there to hold you back.

They’re there to push you to find those that compliment those weaknesses.

Collaborate and you’ll find more room to grow.
Compete and you’ll eventually get left in the street.

Stop saying I’m TRYING to become successful.

Start saying I’m TRAINING to become successful.

And what does someone that is training to become successful need?

A training team.

People to cheer them on.

People to guide and call them out to be better.

None of which can happen in a bubble or the comfort zone.

When you dream big and find those willing to join in on the journey, life begins to take on a whole new meaning.

But if you opt to stay in the comfort zone, you’ll never get to where you want to be.

Own your experiences.

Share them with the world and create good.

I can’t believe that it’s already the end of another week.

I guess that’s what happens when you’re minding your own business.

To say this week has been boring, would be a true disservice to life.

Beneath all the cool experiences, there has been something smacking away in the back of my mind.

Everyone is suddenly an expert these days.

It’s a weird world we live in.

Everyone is selling something.

Many try to sell glitter poised as gold.

They whisper about having the shortcut you need.

Babbling on and on with cheap tricks to get you sipping on the cult-aid.

You deserve better.

Anything that is worthwhile won’t come easy.

The snake oil seller knows this fact.

They also know that it’s within human nature to seek out anything that looks like a shortcut.

So they prey on your passion, your energy, and your possibility.

Weaving you in and out of funnel after funnel, promising you the key to all your dreams.

Extending the promise runway just a little more each and every time.

Until, you have nothing left to give their ever growing coffers.

Time is too valuable to keep giving it all away.

It’s too valuable to keep showing up for people who aren’t showing up for you.

Certainly there is nothing wrong with asking for help.

In fact, don’t try to do things all on your own.

Av0id the bubblegum advice.

It’s easier to stop chewing now than to keep chewing and end up hungry for true substance later.

There’s more value in gaining the experience than seeking the shortcut.

You’ll realize that when you pursue substance, there’s very little room for snacks.

Even less room to get caught up in the oily, slimy mess of the snake oil seller.

Put in the work while they doubt you.

If what is within us is greater than that which is before us. What exactly are we afraid of?

I often wonder about the differences between those that are great vs those that are simply average. Back in the naivety of my youth, I used to think those that were great possessed some sort of luck or advantage that I didn’t have. It wasn’t until my first startup job that made me begin to look at things a little differently.

At its sum, I realized that luck was nothing more than consistency in working hard and smart. Those who came out great were those who were able to put the obstacles before them into proper perspective.

There will be those days when it seems like everything is against you. Even if you have the best intentions at heart. It’s on those days that you have to double down even more on the focus you have towards your goals.

Greatness is much like a piece of marble. It’s not obvious what the final form will be until it’s chiseled out.

While we can talk about greatness all day, none of this matters if we don’t execute with everything we have. We only get one chance at this thing called life.

Why spend it wishing for a better tomorrow when we can start doing better today?
